Dale Beaumont first learned about B1G1 in 2016, when he invited Paul Dunn to speak at one of his Business Blueprint conferences.
Paul shared the story of B1G1 and the vision behind it: what if businesses could create positive impact simply by doing what they already do every day? A new client, a sale, an invoice or a milestone could all become an opportunity to give something back. The idea immediately resonated with Dale.
B1G1 was founded by Masami Sato in 2007. Her original vision came from wanting to create a business that could help others as it grew. Over time, that idea evolved into a much bigger mission: to make giving a natural part of business, so that companies of any size could create meaningful impact through small, consistent actions.
Rather than relying on occasional large donations, B1G1 makes it possible for businesses to connect everyday activities with carefully vetted projects around the world. Those projects support areas such as education, clean water, healthcare, food, shelter, environmental protection and economic opportunity.
Since discovering B1G1 in 2016, Dale has continued to promote its work and has become an ambassador for the movement. He has regularly shared the idea with the Business Blueprint community because it aligns strongly with something he believes: business can and should be about more than just making money.
Over the years, many Business Blueprint members have gone on to become B1G1 members themselves, embedding giving into the way they run their own companies. Dale does not claim any credit for B1G1’s success, but he is proud to have introduced more business owners to an organisation he believes is doing extraordinary work.
What makes B1G1 so powerful is its simplicity. It does not ask businesses to completely change how they operate. Instead, it helps them connect what they are already doing with causes that matter, turning ordinary business activity into a steady stream of positive impact.
Today, B1G1 has grown into a global movement, with thousands of businesses across more than 40 countries participating and hundreds of millions of impacts created around the world. Its long-term mission remains simple and ambitious: to empower every business to become a real force for good.
For Dale, B1G1 remains one of those rare ideas that is both incredibly simple and incredibly powerful. It shows what can happen when business owners decide that success is not only about what they build for themselves, but also about the positive difference their business can help create for others.
