GP Hero was created during one of the most challenging periods Australian general practice has ever faced.

During the COVID crisis, general practitioners across the country were under immense pressure. Patient demand surged. Compliance requirements increased. Staffing shortages became widespread. Many clinics simply could not find or retain enough skilled support staff, and as a result, more and more non-clinical work landed back on the doctors themselves.

Instead of focusing on patient care, GPs were answering phones, managing inboxes, handling recalls, chasing paperwork, and trying to keep their practices running. The load became unsustainable, and in many cases, it directly impacted the quality of care doctors were able to provide.

Following the success of WrkPod, Dale Beaumont and Cody Thompson were approached by Sachin Patel and Todd Cameron with a clear problem to solve. How could we create a safe, compliant, and highly effective support solution specifically for Australian general practices?

That question became GP Hero.

GP Hero was purpose-built to support medical practices by providing highly trained virtual assistants, known as GP Heroes, who work remotely from the Philippines and support clinics across Australia. These are not generic virtual assistants. GP Heroes are carefully selected, professionally trained, and embedded into the healthcare environment.

Every GP Hero is trained in Australian medical systems, practice workflows, privacy requirements, and compliance standards. They understand appointment scheduling, recalls, inbox management, patient communication, document handling, and the day-to-day operational demands of a modern GP clinic. They work within strict protocols to ensure patient data is handled securely and responsibly at all times.

GP Heroes become an extension of the practice team.

They help take pressure off doctors, practice managers, and front-desk staff by handling high-volume administrative tasks that are essential, but time-consuming. This allows clinics to operate more smoothly, reduce burnout, and refocus attention where it matters most, on patient care.

Today, more than 300 GP Heroes are supporting general practices across Australia. They are trusted team members who work alongside doctors and clinic staff every day, helping practices remain efficient, responsive, and resilient.

GP Hero exists to support the people who support everyone else.

By giving general practitioners access to reliable, trained, and compliant administrative support, GP Hero helps clinics continue delivering high-quality care without asking doctors to carry the operational burden alone.

Because great healthcare depends on great teams, and doctors should never have to do it all themselves.
